Arrive at the Sunsail & Moorings base in Road Town for a late-afternoon yacht check-in and marina sleep-aboard. Get a jump on provisioning, explore Road Town, or just enjoy the pool — then meet your fellow champions and flotilla guests at a welcome party hosted by BVI Tourism, Sunsail and Sailing World.
A mid-day departure kicks off the first of six championship races — a scenic circumnavigation of Ginger, Cooper and Salt Islands. Shadow the fleet, break off to explore a snorkeling hotspot, or post up for sunset at Cooper Island Beach Club's waterside bar.
An early sail to The Baths — the BVI's most iconic natural wonder — for as much exploring as you please, while racers duel along Virgin Gorda's emerald north coast. Reserved moorings and an evening welcome party await at Bitter End Yacht Club, kicking off a two-night stay.
Why leave paradise? Boutiques, island dining, hiking, snorkeling, watersports or a hammock nap — or lunch and billiards at nearby Saba Rock. Racers keep the championship going in Bitter End's Hobie Waves as flotilla guests cheer from dinghies, capped by the afternoon's Mount Gay Rum cocktail competition.
The fleet races through and around islands big and small, with a lunchtime stop at Scrub Island Resort's cliffside swim-up bar and infinity pool. A second race along Tortola's majestic north side finishes off postcard-perfect Sandy Cay, before sunset brings everyone to Foxy's Tamarind Bar for dancing under the stars.
The champions face their hardest leg — a start off Sandy Cay through the narrows of Great Thatch Cut, prime spectating for flotilla guests — before a final sprint to The Bight, where racers battle through buoy races in the mooring field. Dinner and awards ashore at Pirates Bight keep the celebration going long after dark.
Racing's done, and the cruising life takes over. Snorkel The Caves and the Indians, slip away to Peter Island's secret coves, return to Foxy's for more, or simply stay another star-filled night in The Bight — the choice, for once, is entirely yours.
One last breakfast onboard, an easy de-brief with the Sunsail team, and a final round at the pool bar or spa before you depart — and start planning your return for next year's championship.
